Solomzi Moleketi

Solomzi Moleketi is a South African painter who holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from LA SALLE COLLEGE of the Arts in Singapore and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. During his undergraduate studies, Moleketi founded the BLVCK BLOCK Art Development Project, which aims at promoting and empowering young artists from Southern Africa.

Moleketi’s oeuvre focuses on the reimagination of both precolonial and colonial realities in a bid to unearth hidden histories. His works feature expansive landscapes that encourage the audience to contemplate the impact of colonisation on all aspects of our lives, but especially on our relationship to the land on which we live.
